meet the artist

Clement, Deborah

I originally trained at Bristol School of Arts, Bath College and Bath Spa University where I gained a BA (Hons). I revisited the arts after many years (due to life circumstances) and am now again fully involved with my ceramic arts practice. I use stoneware to hand coil and sculpt art pieces, I am inspired by animals, plants, dreams and life, my pieces are often somewhat surreal. I generally use crackle and crystal glazes. I am also developing hand thrown tableware ranges, using stoneware and earthenware clays and glazes. I have started exhibiting my work again in local galleries, and currently have a piece in the Bath Society of Art Bath Open 2021 in the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath.
