Following the survey sent out to members earlier this year it was clear that members are happy with the existing 9 day model for the Arts Weeks but with 83% responding to say that they would like to see a group option when signing up we have redesigned the membership options.
This year, in addition to introducing group and business options, we will also be providing additional promotion for those exhibiting alone. We value the experience offered by artists exhibiting from their own home or studio and recognise that it can be harder to attract footfall, particularly if you are a little off the beaten track. So, to provide more support, we will be introducing additional marketing featuring solo artists and promoting the benefits of visiting artists in their own environment.
The Cloth Road Young Arts will also be introduced for the first time this year. Initially this will involve selected 14-18 year old students from local secondary schools exhibiting a piece of artwork alongside more established artists throughout the trail. Young artists will benefit from working with experienced practitioners and exhibiting their work in a public forum whilst increasing footfall for all involved.
Also expect to see a new Facebook group. A place for artists to network, form collaborations and share information and for venues to advertise their space.
There’s not long to go now, so whether you are a professional artist or artisan looking for a platform to exhibit or you are only just starting out and are looking to test the water, join us in making the 2020 Cloth Road Arts Week the best ever!
