There is strength in numbers, and as artists of West Wiltshire ourselves, we believe that in coming together under the umbrella of the Cloth Road Arts we have greater capacity to raise the profile of the arts in our local community as well as that of individual members, and create a wider range of opportunities for all.
In addition to the established and well supported Arts Week we host a range of events and opportunities throughout the year, offering free or discounted entry to members of the Cloth Road Arts.
Cloth Road Artists also benefit from access to our well supported mailing list and social media channels; great for information sharing and promoting your events and artistic endeavours to a wider audience.
November 2021 – 2023
We appreciate that there are many different reasons for participating in an arts trail and so we are offering a range of ways in which you can take part in Cloth Road Arts Week to reflect this.
Full membership includes entry to the Arts Week for which you will get a full column listing in the brochure, as well as an individual gallery page on the website. Some visitors love to see artists in there own environment and so to support solo artists in getting greater footfall this option comes with additional publicity. Solo artists will benefit from an additional image in the brochure alongside an article promoting open studios along the trail, as well as additional publicity through the website and social media.
Maybe you are new to the area and have missed the application process, or are unable to exhibit in the Arts Week but would still like to join us. This option includes an individual gallery page on the website, along with all the other benefits. You can join at any time and your membership will run until the end of the current membership cycle.
Exhibiting as a group often incurs the additional costs of hiring larger venues and to acknowledge this we are offering a small discount. This option is for groups of 2 or more artists wishing to exhibit in the same venue. Each artist receives full Cloth Road Arts Membership, a full column listing in the brochure and an individual gallery page on the website.
This option is for established groups wishing to promote themselves and give members the experience of exhibiting to the public without profiting from the event. Exhibitors may list their contact details alongside their artwork but are not permitted to list artwork prices or make sales from the exhibition. Non-profit groups get a full column listing and a quarter page advert in the brochure as well as a gallery page on the website to represent the group as a whole.
Galleries and Businesses wishing to participate in the Arts Week will receive a half page advert in the brochure and advertising space on the website.
August 2023. Interim memberships can be purchased at any time.
Collection of brochures/signage.
CLOTH ROAD ARTS WEEK
It is an artist’s responsibility to find and organise a venue for their exhibition. However we would can do our best to support you in this by posting on there of any possible venues looking for artists or emailing out to the membership.
If you know of, or are able to offer, exhibition space that would be great! Please contact us so we can upload details to the website. We also encourage you to share information on our Facebook page to help other artists needing to find a space or to let others know you’re looking to share a space.
If your studio or workshop is at home, you may find this the best option. As some visitors like to see an artist in their own environment.
If you would prefer not to exhibit from home, you may wish to create your own group of artists and find a larger venue to share.
Some visitors may prefer not to visit a private home, whereas others may prefer to visit an artist in their own environment.
Groups of artists are more likely to attract greater footfall than solo artists. You may want to approach venues with other facilities, such as a café, shop, leisure centre, however some venues who don’t normally promote the arts may need extra encouragement with the signage and exhibition promotion or when it comes to pubs, cafés, etc it may be difficult for visitors to view the art work. You will also need to find a venue that is open during the days/times the Art Week is on.
Please also consider parking and disabled access when choosing a venue, as we feel it’s very important that everyone has a successful time showcasing and visiting during The Cloth Road Arts Week.
Copyright remains with the artist, however, by registering online and agreeing to the terms and conditions the artist agrees that his/her work can be used for the promotion of the Cloth Road Arts Week.
The closing date for your online submission is October 2023.

If exhibiting at a shared venue please ensure that all of your entries are consistent and that all sections of the form are completed to show the same information. This is particularly important with the directions to your venue and opening and closing times.
Your entry fee will be made via Paypal (please note you do not need to hold a Paypal account payment can be made via credit/debit card) and you will receive a receipt to confirm that the payment has been made.
You will also receive a confirmation email to confirm that your entry has been received.

Cloth Road Arts Week venue and artist information will be contained within the brochure as well as on the website. However, it will be the artist(s) responsibility to promote your own venue to help with the visitor numbers. If you plan to hold an opening night/private view, this again will have to be advertised by the artist or exhibitors at a shared venue.
We aim to actively promote the Arts Week through the press, radio and online but cannot be made responsible for the promotion of your venue other than promotion through the website and within the brochure.
If you are interested but do not have a venue, please visit the Website to see if a venue is available for you (See ‘Finding a Venue’ as this page will be updated when we know of anyone looking for artists.
